There are many waterproofing sprays available in the market, but not all are suitable for car side awnings. Choose a spray designed for outdoor fabrics, ensuring it's safe for the material of your awning (canvas, polyester, etc.).
The first thing to know is the type of rack or crossbars you need to be able to hold a Roof Top Tent. You have to be certain the rack or pubs you're likely to purchase have a Dynamic Weight Capacity of the burden of the tent.
The Dynamic Weight Capacity (DWC) of your roof rack is the most important specification to consider. The DWC should be able to support the weight of your tent and any additional gear you plan to bring.

Polyurethane and silicone are the best waterproof materials. Most camping tents are made of silicone, polyurethane, or a combination of these fabrics. Polyurethane is more common.
